ABOUT
born and raised in seattle, irene came from quite a wealthy family. she wasn't one to flaunt what she had, but it was obvious she came from a family with a lot of money. when middle school came around, her family moved to seoul, where she enrolled into an international school. she was one of two asians in the entire school and was very americanized. both in school and outside of school, she was teased and called a banana- yellow on the outside, white on the inside. she never really took it to heart, though. because it was how she was, anyway. that's exactly how she acted.

when they moved to seoul, irene got into a lot of trouble, but that was mostly because she barely spoke korean. she was terrible at using honorifics, and never knew when she had to speak formally or casually. older relatives always wanted to hit her and she had no idea why. but, of course, as she moved on from middle school to high school, she learned both the hard way and the easy way. her family and friends helped her, and now she found herself more at home, even if she did miss seattle.

irene was always into the arts growing up, always finding comfort in painting or drawing, so when she graduated high school in 2008 and applied to different colleges, she decided to go back to america and study in new york. she studied textile design at FIT, working hard and having lots of fun during her four years of college. she was so into fashion, obviously, she was also able to expose herself to that-- fashion and modeling. tall enough to be a model, irene never walked, though. instead, she would be invited to shows, be it NYFW or PFW, and gained more and new experiences during that time.

after graduating in 2012, she worked around new york for a year or so before moving back to seoul, where she worked as a textile designer and colorist for a company or two, as well as freelance. after contemplating whether or not she'd go back to school, either to get another bachelor degree or a master's, she decided yonsei would be a good place to go. she applied to the master's program at yonsei after doing an internship over the summer, and continuing to do so now as school started.
